Support Leeds students

Your Support today will ensure that all students, regardless of their background, are able to access the same enriching Leeds experience you did by;

  • Helping them overcome incredible barriers to take up their place at Leeds. Some of our students come from families who aren’t able to cover the rising costs of living and studying away from home. Others need to care for loved ones, so focusing on their studies can be hard. Some of our students may have been in care or are estranged from their families, and may not have a support network to fall back on in times of financial and personal difficulty.  Your generosity will build upon the sector-leading support which the University offers to help students thrive at Leeds.
  • Helping them to feel like they belong at our university. Students from less advantaged backgrounds can often feel quite isolated and like they don’t quite fit in the student community, lacking the same life experiences or opportunities. Your support will help them to find the place where they are celebrated for their abilities and realise their full potential.
  • Helping them to have their own impact in our society and give back. Your gift will help students to develop their talents and go on to make an incredible contribution to Leeds and the wider community - through volunteering and other outreach activities which they dedicate their time to.
  • Becoming partners in the success of our students. By giving today, you will not only be supporting the University and a community which influenced who you are today, you will also be making an investment in the next generation. You will join a community of almost 16,000 alumni who have collectively supported over 2,000 deserving students with a gift of a scholarship and many more through outreach and support programmes.

“For students from similar backgrounds to mine, there’s  always a feeling that you have to work three times harder to access the same opportunities as your peers. These gifts  have been so helpful in putting my mind at ease. I don’t have  to put as much energy into working out how I’d pay for this society membership or that opportunity – instead I can focus on my studies, developing my leadership skills, and my volunteering.”
