Get Behind Scholarships

Today will you get behind more students to offer them the support that only a scholarship can provide?

Thanks to the generosity of alumni like you, 211 students were awarded a scholarship last year. Meegan is a shining example of why your support for scholarships is so important.

‘At a time where I had so much to consider and think about – you have given me a sense of financial security which has meant I can take up opportunities. Thank you so much. Being estranged I always have to look to the future, and my scholarship allowed me enough to live on and save for a rainy day.’

However – only 1 in 8 applicants last year were successful, and we’re expecting applications to rise.

Every scholarship you help to give is a life-changing chance for one more student:

  • By giving £100 today you could provide support to a student during their crucial first week at Leeds.
  • By giving £500 today you could provide a grant to a student which would allow them to say ‘yes’ to personal and professional opportunities that incur travel costs or other expenses.
  • By giving £1,000 today you could fund a student’s first term at Leeds.
  • By giving £3,000 today you could fund a student’s first year at Leeds.

You might also consider making your gift regular by direct debit and join a community of supporters who are behind students like Meegan every step of the way. From taking up their place at Leeds, all the way through to the day they don their graduation gown and take steps into their careers.

By offering a scholarship, you are not just providing a student with financial security. You are giving them the self-belief necessary to succeed.

An amazing 81% of scholars go on to achieve a 2:1 or higher in their chosen subject.

Your support also allows students to benefit from a range of support targeted to their needs via the Plus Programme. Whether that be academic workshops and events, or professional connections to help them achieve their aspirations. The Programme even provides mentoring and support over the phone for when it all gets a bit overwhelming.

A scholarship is an investment in the future success and happiness of a student, but also ensures that they feel currently part of our academic and student community. Get behind scholarships today to show more students that they belong at Leeds.
